Okay I missed Monday's post. GenCon and lack of sleep are to blame along with the fact that I allowed my buffer to degrade to nothing.
But it is still technically Monday here on the West Coast and I just saw this thing I can easily do in the time I have remaining:
RPG-a-Day.
Forthcoming Game You're Most Looking Forward To
Details on Deviant: the ??? remain limited (it doesn't help that the developer just recently given the pitch) but it sounds like a game I've been playing with in my head for the better part of a decade. People with powers hunted by the conspiracy that made them and who intend to turn the tables on them.
For games which I know more about I'd say
TimeWatch because I want a fast and loose time travel game and I think GUMSHOE can do a good job.
Kickstarted Game You're Most Pleased You Backed
Demon: the Descent is pretty easy to love: a gorgeous cover, an awesome concept, and a neat setting. The rules seem solid and the permutations are wide without being overwhelming. The only flaw is that I haven't gotten to run it yet. But when I do it will be a thing of beauty.
Favorite New Game of the Last 12 Months
It seems Demon: the Descent fits that description but I'll come up with an alternate instead. Having played at GenCon in last few days I'd say
Urban Shadows is an awesome game for doing quick mix and match urban fantasy. You can play vampires, fae, and mortals in a setting that doesn't seem chaotic because you build it as you go. Powered by the Apocalypse World system, I feel in some ways it might be better refined than the original. The MC section gives way more advice which I love. If I wasn't just getting off of a Apocalypse World kick, I'd be running this now.
