Creations of Flux, Part V

Years ago I ran a Promethean: the Created game called Pandora's Tomorrow. As one might expect from the name, I created a large number of Pandorans for the game. In this series I will be sharing some of these failed creations, their history, and some story seeds for their use.

Sibling

Background: Like mortals, Prometheans create more of their kind for many reasons: to complete their Pilgrimage, to create something that will outlast them, and for companionship. But some Prometheans do so to satisfy their own curiosity.

One such Created, called simple the Doctor, seeks to create the perfect being. Unfortunately for most who encounter him or his creations, he is a Centimanus, a follower of the path of Flux. while he sometimes creates Prometheans, many of his creations are of those of Flux.

One such as experiment involved the creation of two beings at once. One became a thing of Flux, a Pandoran, the other a normal Promethean. Neither met their creator's hopes so he left them to their own ends.

The Pandoran however seeks to rectify its flaws and seeks to join with its sibling to improve itself. Such a joining however will undoubtedly involve it eating its twin.
Description: Skittering through the darkness on a half-dozen misshapen limbs, this hulking horror giggles and cries out for its brother. Light illuminates a chitinous skin the color of dried blood and a large number 12 tattooed across its back. As it rears up, one can see its human face with empty eyes and patchy gray hair. It lashes out with a huge pincer.
ST Notes: Sibling seeks to reunite with its "brother", the Promethean it was created along side. But as a creature of Flux, it can barely control itself. Ultimately it will try to consume its sibling. It does have some cunning however and will look to ambush its target.

Notes:

• The Sibling is furiously hungry and must roll Resolve + Composure not to attack outright.
• The Sibling suffers a -1 penalty to Dexterity rolls outside of water
• Bite: pool 9, deals lethal damage (GMC: pool 7, 0 Lethal)
• Pincer: pool 10, deals lethal damage (GMC: pool 6, 2 Lethal)
• Grapple: pool 6.

Story Seeds

Family Ties: the obvious use is to have the creator of a Promethean also create Sibling. It then goes hunting after its lost brother or sister. Along the way it attacks and tries to kill those close to them, isolating them so it can have them to itself.

Man or Monster: Increasing sibling's intelligence and ability to resist its urges might allow it to become a more sympathetic character. It might lurk in the background, following the Promethean from town to town, sending messages about its pain and loneliness to its twin. Ultimately there will be a reckoning but ultimately all the sweeter.

Unstable Fires: what if Sibling began as a Promethean? In this scenario, the character meets Sibling in the guise of a Promethean with the same creator. But something goes wrong and it mutates into a Pandoran. Even if they defeat it, it leaves the question of whether their flame is equally flawed.
