Creations of Flux, Part VII

Years ago I ran a Promethean: the Created game called Pandora's Tomorrow. As one might expect from the name, I created a large number of Pandorans for the game. In this series I will be sharing some of these failed creations, their history, and some story seeds for their use.

Bride Hounds

Background: The Promethean, known as Verney, might have been the real Frankenstein monster. Whether it is true or not, he was one of the first of the Wretched. He also was at least partly responsible for the creation of a powerful Pandoran known as the Bride. A creature of pure Flux, she hated him and sought to hurt and destroy him. She would send horrors to harry him, each bearing the perfect features her creator intend to bless her with.

Description: These lanky hounds trot through the concrete jungle relentlessly. Bony spurs, like claws, scrape on the asphalt. Their hairless flesh shifts in color from shadow black to a zebra pattern of brick-red and mortar gray. Their canine features end at their heads which all sport the same beautiful visage of a pale skinned woman laughing.

Lineage: Torch Born

Physical Attributes: Strength 4, Dexterity 3, Stamina 3
Social Attributes: Presence 2, Manipulation 0, Composure 2

Merits: Fleet of Foot 2
Willpower: 5 Vice: Wrath
Initiative: 5 Defense: 3 (GMC: 6)
Speed: 15 Health: 7

Pyros (Maximum (Current)/Per Turn): 10 (4)/1

Notes:
  • Bite: pool 9, deals lethal. The Bride Hounds focus on taking chunks out of their foes, distracting their quarry with attacks from all directions.
  • Camouflage: Stealth pool 9, with their ever-changing hide these creatures easily blend into their surroundings.
  • Flee: Athletics (Running) pool 9 for the purposes of chases. They are skilled at chasing down and escaping attackers. This lets them engage in hit and run tactics.

Story Seeds

Hunting for Verny: There are many reasons a Promethean might seek out the first of the Frankensteins: seeking knowledge of their origins, the aid of one of the most powerful of the Created, or simply to learn what two centuries of life has to teach.

In the process however, they will encounter the creations of the Bride. These might harry them as they get close or wait until they win Verney's trust, seeking then to destroy them. Or perhaps Verney will ask them to prove their intentions by eliminating this nuisance. Of course he might then ask them to seek out his nemesis and help destroy her.

The Queen of Flux: Perhaps they seek the Bride herself. Those who seek to destroy Pandorans would clearly want to stop this source of horrors while those with a more philosophical bent towards Flux might want to learn what possibly the most powerful Pandoran might know about the nature of Pyros and Flux. Or perhaps she retains her creator's notes, diagrams and research of a demiurge.

The first step in finding her would be to locate her creations and then tracing them back to their origin.
